How we verify listings
Our directory starts with Google Places business records, adds selected official-source checks, and accepts reader and owner corrections for review. A listing is not a guarantee that every amenity or policy is current.
Where the information comes from
The initial nationwide dataset was collected from Google Places. Names, addresses, contact details, available hours, and rating snapshots come from those records, with administrative corrections layered on top. Amenity tags are directory classifications, not individual official-source confirmations.
Selected venue comparisons cite the venue’s own website and show the date that specific detail was checked. Those checks cover the cited statements only—not every field on a venue page, a personal visit, or an endorsement.
What “not confirmed” means
A missing amenity is unknown, not proof that it is unavailable. Alcohol tags do not establish a full bar, a liquor license, or BYOB permission. Membership options do not by themselves establish that public guests are excluded. Ask the venue about outside cigars, minimum purchases, food service, dress, accessibility, and the smoking area before traveling.
How current are listings?
We do not yet run an automatic recurring refresh of the nationwide dataset. A venue without a dated official-source note has no published last-checked date. Hours and ratings are snapshots and can change; an administrative edit does not mean all details have been reverified.
Corrections and new venues
Use “Suggest an edit” on the relevant venue page for corrections. New venue submissions and advertising inquiries go to a private moderation inbox. They are not published automatically. Editors can review, dismiss, resolve, and apply corrections; submitting a listing does not verify ownership.
Ratings, recommendations, and funding
Google Places ratings reflect third-party review snapshots, not reviews collected by this directory. Source-checked comparisons explain different experiences; they are not best-of rankings. Base listings stay free. Advertising and sponsored placement must be identified separately from editorial comparisons. Guide recommendations are editorial suggestions, not evidence of hands-on product testing unless explicitly documented.
Adult audience and health
This directory is intended for adults 21+. We do not sell tobacco. Cigar smoke contains toxic and cancer-causing chemicals; not inhaling does not make cigar smoking safe. Read the National Cancer Institute’s cigar fact sheet.
